DomainSabre publishes practical information for people buying, owning, researching and administering UK domains. We also have a commercial interest as a forthcoming auction marketplace. Our guides must remain useful and understandable independently of that future service.
Sources and evidence
For registry procedures, we prefer Nominet's original documents, formal notices and dedicated service guidance. For search-engine policy, we use the search engine's own documentation. An operator's page is evidence of that operator's stated process, not authority for another company's rules. Sources are linked beside material claims and collected in the source list beneath each article.
We record the relevant source edition and the pages that depend on it. A source can be authoritative while still containing an old date or a description of a future service. Where general and dedicated pages differ, the article identifies the distinction or records the uncertainty instead of quietly presenting an unsupported instruction.
Current and scheduled rules
The .UK standardisation material separates existing procedures from Nominet's scheduled changes. A scheduled date passing does not, by itself, confirm that the new procedures are active. The factual state must be checked against an authoritative confirmation before scheduled instructions are presented as current.
The reviewed change history records the initial baseline and material changes to the guidance. The transition hub is a starting point; specific processes are kept on permanent guides so they remain useful after the transition.
Dates mean different things
A publication date means when a page first became public. A substantive revision date means that its useful content changed. A source-check date means that the factual dependencies were checked. Those dates are not interchangeable.
We do not change every article's date because the site has been redeployed or because an unchanged source was checked again. An unavailable source does not become a successful fresh check. Readers should consider the shown factual date when acting on time-sensitive information and consult the current original instructions.
Examples and uncertainty
Fictional examples are labelled. They illustrate decisions, not live inventory, actual sales, service availability or investment returns. Asking prices, bids, estimated values and settled sale prices are different evidence. A missing measurement is not a measured zero, and an old archive capture does not establish uninterrupted ownership.
Provider metrics are identified as provider metrics. We do not describe a third-party domain score as a Google score or promise that buying an existing domain preserves traffic or rankings. The SEO evidence guide explains those limits.
Independence and author identity
DomainSabre is the organisation credited as publisher. The operator is Serallo Domains Ltd. No individual expert, professional credential or human-review claim is invented for these pages. Editorial preparation can use software assistance; the displayed organisation credit does not claim that every article has been reviewed by a named specialist.
Nominet does not publish or endorse this site. Our member and registrar references describe the operator's entries in Nominet's public directories; they are not an approval badge for this website or its future marketplace.
Corrections and scope
Send corrections to tom@serallo.co.uk, ideally with the page, the claim and the relevant original source. Material corrections should update the affected explanation and its substantive revision date. A procedural change affecting several guides should be reflected in their applicability panels and in the reviewed change history.
General educational guidance is not a substitute for the terms of an actual sale, account-specific registrar instructions or advice on a particular legal dispute. DomainSabre's auction rules will be separate when the marketplace is available. Read the website terms for the present service.
