This notice describes DomainSabre's public research tools, guides, requested drop reminders and optional email updates. It covers the data used for these services, not a future auction account, payment service or domain-submission system. Notice version: 2026-11-04.1.
Controller and contact
Serallo Domains Ltd, company number 17217704, registered in England and Wales, is the controller. Its registered office is Apt 2, 11a West Cliff Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, BH2 5EP, United Kingdom. Contact tom@serallo.co.uk about privacy, preferences or a rights request.
Information you provide
When you request updates, we use your email address, the purposes you select, the page used to request them and the consent wording/version shown. We keep request, confirmation, preference-change and withdrawal records with their timestamps. Confirmation and management tokens are stored as cryptographic hashes, with their permitted action, expiry and consumption or revocation state.
For a drop reminder, we additionally need the selected domain occurrence, its published scheduled time and source identity, your selected reminder lead times, the permission wording/version and the request's confirmation, cancellation and delivery state. We keep enough operational evidence to reconcile a changed schedule, avoid duplicate messages and handle a delivery failure. A reminder concerns that occurrence; it is not a permanent watch on every future use of the same domain.
You may choose to declare whether you are a Nominet member and select a professional role for optional updates. These fields are optional and self-declared. They are not membership verification or an entitlement to an offer. We do not ask for a portfolio, holdings, expected sale inventory or reserve prices.
If you contact us, we receive the information in your message, its reply address and any attachments you choose to send. Avoid sending sensitive information or transfer codes. We may ask for proportionate information to establish that a request relates to your own records.
Requested drop reminders
A reminder request gives specific permission to email you about the selected domain's published schedule at the lead times you select, and to tell you if that schedule materially changes or is withdrawn. We rely on your expressly requested, verified permission for this scoped service. Confirmation establishes control of the email address and the choices recorded in that request; it does not authorise unrelated messages.
The confirmation expires within 24 hours, or sooner when the last selected reminder would no longer be useful. Opening its link shows a confirmation page; a deliberate confirmation action activates the eligible request. An expired or unconfirmed request does not activate reminders. We do not tell anonymous visitors whether an address already has a reminder or subscription.
Reminder messages contain factual schedule, source and management information. They do not contain promotional offers, tracking pixels or a request to buy a domain from us. We do not repurpose watched domains as marketing interests or pass them into an advertising audience. Whether a message is direct marketing depends on its purpose and content; the word “reminder” is not a blanket exemption from the applicable rules.
Source freshness and the remaining time can prevent a reminder being created or sent. A later accepted schedule can change the time or close an occurrence. A message saying the name is no longer listed does not establish whether it was renewed, registered or sold. Your reminder does not reserve, backorder or register the domain.
Two separate email purposes
In addition to any requested reminder, you decide independently whether to receive:
- DomainSabre launch news and promotional offers for its UK domain auction marketplace.
- DomainSabre's .UK registry and Nominet transition updates.
Neither choice is selected for you. You can use drop search, public lookup and calendar downloads without joining either list. You can request an eligible email reminder without selecting either optional purpose. We send a confirmation request and activate only the recorded choices you confirm. Confirming your email once does not authorise every later purpose. An anonymous request using your address cannot silently alter your active preferences.
We rely on your consent for the optional updates and profile information you provide. Confirmation and preference messages are used to carry out the request and protect the integrity of the service. You can withdraw a purpose at any time; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Changing or withdrawing preferences
Use the preferences, reminder-management or unsubscribe link supplied in our emails, or contact the address above. You do not need to sign in or create an auction account. Visiting an action link alone does not grant consent or cancel a request; its page explains the action for you to confirm.
You can cancel one drop reminder or all drop reminders. Those actions leave independently selected launch and registry updates unchanged. Withdrawing an optional email purpose does not silently cancel a separate reminder. Withdrawal or cancellation revokes conflicting older unconfirmed grants in the relevant scope so an old link cannot restore what you cancelled.
Cancellation prevents future messages that have not already been handed to the email provider. A message already accepted for delivery cannot be recalled. A verified bounce, complaint or other necessary delivery suppression may prevent further mail even if an otherwise valid request exists.
If a management link has expired, contact us or make a deliberate fresh request using the relevant form. A fresh request needs its own confirmation. An old reminder does not automatically follow a later registration or drop cycle of the same name.
Public drop search and UK lookup
Public drop search uses the accepted Nominet schedule and does not require your email address. Calendar downloads are also available without an email address. Search criteria can appear in your browser address and history when you save a search URL. A downloaded calendar file remains under your control and does not automatically update with later schedule changes.
The embedded UK WHOIS lookup sends a query directly from your browser to Nominet only when you deliberately submit a supported domain. A normal prefilled link keeps the name in the browser fragment and does not start a lookup. Nominet receives the requested domain and the connection information needed to answer, including your IP address. Its RDAP terms and applicable privacy notice govern its processing.
DomainSabre does not operate a registry-query proxy, store a lookup-history database or retain returned RDAP responses. The displayed result is limited to public domain fields; we do not display or harvest registrant contact data. Lookup inputs and results are not used for advertising, audience analytics or session replay.
Website operation and cookies
The editorial guides do not require cookies or browser storage. Pages containing subscription, reminder or preference forms use a necessary, secure session cookie and request-forgery protection to process the form safely. The session lasts up to two hours of inactivity. These cookies do not track your browsing for advertising.
This site does not install advertising pixels, session replay, third-party audience analytics, embedded social widgets or tracking in its public scripts or reminder emails. Fonts and assets are served from this website. Standard hosting, security, backup and email systems may process connection and delivery information, including IP addresses, request times and security events. Short-lived rate-limit records help prevent repeated automated submissions. We use legitimate interests in running a secure, reliable service for that necessary operational processing.
Private confirmation and management pages are not intended for public indexing or shared caching. Keep their links private: a valid management link authorises the actions described on its page. We avoid putting email addresses, reminder capabilities or lookup values into routine analytics and application logs.
Access, recipients and international processing
Access is limited to authorised people working for the operator and service providers needed for hosting, security, backups and email delivery. Information may also be disclosed to a competent authority or professional adviser where necessary and lawful. We do not sell subscription or reminder records, disclose watched-domain interests for promotion or automatically pass registry-only subscribers into a promotional audience.
The hosting and mail providers used for the live service determine where their processing takes place. Contact us for the current provider and processing-location details. If a restricted international transfer is necessary, the operator must use the applicable safeguards. We do not claim that all systems are located in the UK without evidence. The direct Nominet lookup is a separate interaction described above.
Retention
Reminder confirmation expires within 24 hours or earlier where the selected timing requires it. Expired unconfirmed reminder tokens and their operational material are removed under the configured cleanup policy, initially two days after expiry. Completed or cancelled reminder interests, including associated domain-linked delivery, audit and token records, are removed 30 days after closure. A closed occurrence can be removed when it has no remaining reminder interest. These are DomainSabre retention policies, not a claim that legislation prescribes these exact periods.
Optional marketing and registry-update subscriptions follow a separate policy. Their unconfirmed requests and expired tokens are cleared under a 30-day housekeeping policy. Active preferences and supporting evidence remain while the subscription continues. Records needed to demonstrate that consent or handle a dispute may be retained for up to six years after withdrawal, subject to necessity and review. That longer consent record is not a reason to keep a history of watched domains after reminder cleanup.
Limited suppression records are kept for as long as needed to honour an opt-out, a verified bounce or complaint and prevent unwanted mail or accidental reimport. They do not need to contain watched-domain details. Removing an address from an active mailing audience is not the same as removing the instruction to suppress further mail.
Contact enquiries are reviewed when resolved and kept only for a continuing operational or legal need. Security logs and backup copies follow the configured provider's retention; they are restricted and are not alternative live reminder or marketing lists. Contact us if you need the retention details applying to your record.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction or portability and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You have a right to object to direct marketing. These rights have conditions and exceptions; for example, a limited suppression record can be necessary to respect your objection. The ICO explains preference and suppression handling.
Email the controller to exercise a right or raise a concern. You may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We do not use these forms to make an automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects.
Future changes
A future auction marketplace will need its own accurate information about any additional processing before that service is used. A newsletter or reminder record does not become an auction account automatically. Material changes to this notice or the purpose of an email will be communicated appropriately; a different purpose is not silently added to an existing permission.
